How My Family Has Influenced My Values
Understanding how I arrived here is a journey that starts with my grandmother. She has always been my role model. Growing up, she moved around different Air Force bases until the age of five, when her father left her and her mother for another family. From then on, she was raised in Southeast D.C., where she worked multiple jobs to help with household expenses. She even put herself through high school by attending night school.
At 18, she married my grandfather and started a family of three kids by the age of 21. Despite coming from nothing, she never let her circumstances define her. She had the confidence to believe in herself, the determination to work tirelessly, and the drive to build an extremely successful business through long nights, early mornings, and a lot of blood, sweat, and tears.
I share this because she’s the person I look up to the most. She’s also the reason I want to continue her work in real estate, offering the same family-oriented care she has given to her clients for years. My grandmother always told me she’s unconventional in her approach to business, but it has worked for her. Rather than being pushy, I’ve seen her ask thoughtful questions that help her clients discover exactly what’s right for them.
While many realtors focus on a particular segment of clients, my grandmother prides herself on serving everyone—regardless of their background, class, culture, or intentions—while giving only the best to each one. The key difference between her and others is that helping people isn’t just her job; it’s her vocation. Real estate is simply the medium through which she does it.
As I prepare to enter the business with her, with the goal of taking over when she retires, I want to carry on this tradition. More than that, I aim to expand on it with my own unique vision and values
What Sparked My Passion for Real Estate?
What ignited my interest in real estate, and why did I choose this as my career path?
Riding around, shadowing my grandma as a kid, as she hustled her way to the top 3 Maryland realtors.
Learning how so many people like myself were able to leverage real estate investments as a means to financial freedom—something I value deeply.
Realizing that I will be good at what I love (helping people and houses) rather than trying to love something I think would be good for me (tech).
Who Do I Aim to Serve, and How Will I Serve Them?
Who are the clients I’m passionate about helping, and how do I ensure they receive first-class service, no matter their goals or situation?
I aim to serve anyone in need of a realtor's expertise, regardless of their circumstances. Whether it’s sellers, buyers, renters, those impacted by gentrification, individuals looking to invest and build wealth, or small businesses seeking commercial spaces to establish roots in their communities, I am committed to providing first-class like we are family service. My approach is to deeply empathize with each client’s unique situation, ensuring I fully understand their needs and values. This allows me to deliver personalized, thoughtful solutions tailored specifically to them.
Why Is Educating My Clients and Community So Important to Me?
What drives my commitment to providing educational resources, and how does teaching and empowering others align with my mission as a realtor?
Educating my clients and community is at the core of my mission because I believe that informed decisions lead to better outcomes. Real estate is one of the most significant financial decisions people will make, and I want to empower them with the knowledge to navigate it confidently. By offering educational resources, I’m not just helping clients buy or sell a property—I’m giving them the tools to build wealth, create opportunities, and secure their futures. For me, teaching is a way to give back, build trust, and create long-lasting relationships with my clients, ensuring that they feel confident and supported every step of the way.

Who Am I and What’s My Journey in Real Estate?
How did my path lead me to the world of real estate, and what experiences have shaped the way I serve my clients?
I grew up in a family of teachers, and from them, I learned that asking the right questions is the only way to get the right answers. This form of pedagogy shaped some of my strongest values and core beliefs. By engaging in debates and wrestling with thought-provoking questions, I developed a well-rounded perspective on life, forming deeper, more complete arguments.
How does this connect to real estate? Well, my background in education and family values has been a cornerstone of who I am. It gives me a unique advantage when helping people navigate one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives. A home is not just a building—it’s where relationships form, families grow, wealth is built, and people experience life’s greatest joys and sorrows. As cliché as it may sound, the place you live provides the backdrop for some of life’s most important moments. That’s why making the right decision matters, and it’s why I ask the hard questions to help guide my clients toward informed choices, backed by deep market knowledge.
I share the same drive as my grandmother—cut from the same cloth, so to speak. We are people who stop at nothing to achieve what others say we can’t. People told me I’d have to take on student loans or settle for community college, that elite private schools weren’t for me. Well, I proved them wrong by earning a full-ride scholarship to Emory University. Others said majoring in film wouldn’t lead to a career or financial stability. Yet, I went on to work for a tech startup, generating seven figures in revenue and helping shape the product that carried the company through Series A funding. I gained equity, lived and worked in New York City for two years, and received full-time offers—not once, but twice. I turned them down to finish my education because I believe in finishing what I start.
Now, I’m at another pivotal point in my journey. I experienced the tech world and saw a potential future there, but it’s not what I want. I don’t want to be stuck behind a computer screen all day. I care too much about being in the field, helping people, and living a life that keeps me moving. Real estate allows me to combine my passion for serving others with the fast-paced lifestyle that suits both my ADHD and my vocational calling.
I’m excited to apply the skills I developed in startups, at Emory, and through my own self-teaching to real estate—where I can teach my clients and my community how to achieve success on their own terms. My heart especially goes out to those who don’t come from much but work hard to build a better life for themselves and future generations. That’s why I’m here—because helping people build their legacy is what drives me.
